In this Voices podcast, we are joined by the New Hampshire Association of School Principals Executive Director Bridey Bellemare, as well as four acting administrators in NH schools.
Elementary principal Dave Levesque from Pleasant Street Elementary School in Laconia, assistant principal of curriculum and instruction Kathleen Murphy from Clark Wilkins School in Amherst, and high school principals Bill Lonergan from Campbell HS and Bill McGowan of Winnacunnet HS join Bridey on the call.
During this insightful conversation, Bridey shares the role of NHASP as a supporter and connector, while the administrators share the various ways they are leaning on their networks and connections to support them during this difficult time.
The principals discuss the various “trouble spots” they are keeping a close eye on, and how they have focused on the safety, health, and well-being of their communities during this time.
Questions still remain, like how to keep a five-year-old socially distanced, as well as how to best plan for the gaps that now exist, and how to most safely and effectively return to school in the fall. The need to support the social and emotional needs of students and staff is also clearly understood as an area of focus moving forward.
The principals wrap up the conversation noting that in this small state, it has been critically important to communicate and connect with each other, all in support of helping students be as successful as can be during this difficult time.
